Dubai amazes whole world with its spectacular architectural achievements but the city keeps on surprising world's public with its unbelievable ideas and plans that near the impossible. Many projects works came to a standstill because of the global financial crisis but considering the development of Dubai in the last three decades there is no doubt that Dubai will continue to amaze the world's public also in the future.
Emaar Properties has started the construction of the Dubai Marina in 2003 which is claimed to be the world's largest man-made marina when completed. The Dubai Marina will encompass an area of 1,52 square kilometers (1/2 square mile) but only first phase of the projects has been completed so far.
One of the greatest future projects that are planned by the Nakheel Properties is
the Dubai Waterfront which is believed to become the largest man-made waterfront in
the world. The project is expected to be completed in the 2030's and will encompass
an area of 130 square kilometers (50 square miles) and provide a shelter to the Palm

the Nakheel Properties. Dubai Waterfront that will be almost twice the size of the
Hong Kong Island is expected to house 1,5 million of people and add 70 kilometers
(43,5 miles) of beaches to the city of Dubai.
Great attention also attracted the announcement of Hydropolis Underwater Hotel and Resort which will be the world's first underwater luxury resort. Hydropolis should be open in late 2006 but the project is delayed because of construction and environmental difficulties.
